It’s hard to believe the finale of ‘AGT’ is actually here. The pressure is on as six extremely talented contestants (some more talented than others) are narrowed down and the winner is announced. Here is the breakdown:
The Rockettes kicked off the show with a pretty awesome performance and light up jackets. Those girls can kick really high all at the same time!
Icona Pop performed ‘I Love It’ and ‘We Could Do This All Night’ but with no light up jackets, so what’s the point?
Oh great, a video of the judges bantering. It wouldn’t be a finale if there wasn’t some pointless video of how wacky the judges are. They are so wacky.
Gavin Degraw and Cami Bradley performed “Best I Ever Had’ together which was very enjoyable and it is the fastest paced song we’ve heard Cami sing yet!
Kenichi came out to dance, which was amazing as usual, and then his dance summoned an orchestra followed by Il Divo who sang ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’ operatically. I’m sure it’s everything Elton John ever wanted.
James Lipton came out with Taylor Williamson to ask him the famous Bernard Pivot questionnaire. Overall it was very funny. By the way, Taylor’s favorite curse word is Dick Cheney and he is comfortable saying that since votes don’t count anymore.
Collins Key combined two of his tricks and has two special guests come out to help him, Kathy Lee and Hoda from ‘Today’. If you ask me Collins got shafted when it comes to celebrity guests. Cami got Gavin Degraw, Taylor got THE James Lipton, and Kenichi got Il Divo. That being said this was one of Collins’ best performances yet. Too bad it came after voting.
Forte performed with Josh Groban and I’m just gonna be straight forward here, BORING. An hour and fifteen minutes in and there have been zero results given. Some results show this is.
Jimmy Rose performed with Dierks Bentley giving performance that sounded a lot like all of Jimmy’s other performances.
EARTH WIND AND FIRE! Okay I can hold of on the results if it means a performance of ‘September’. They still got it!
Finally, results. All six contestants are on the stage and are eliminated one by one in order of the number of votes received. The finalist with the least number of votes was Cami Bradley. While I’m not surprised she did not win the competition I am surprised she didn’t even beat Collins Key in votes. Cami has a great future ahead of her making fast songs slow. In all seriousness check out her version of ‘Believe’. It was one of the best musical acts of the season.
Surprise, surprise, Collins Key is the next to go.Yes his young age is shocking and he definitely has a future in magic, which is probably a rare thing to have a future in, but at this point his tricks move too slowly.
Forte is the next act to leave. They gave us many brilliant performances and there is no doubt that they have a future in opera whether it be together or separately.
We have to take a break from results to listen to Luke Bryan sing ‘That’s My Kinda Night’ which is a song that contains all of the country music cliches: girls, beers, and a truck, oh and catfish dinner. But he did get Howard to dance with him so I guess it was worth it for that.
Jimmy Rose, Taylor Williamson, and Kenichi Ebina are all that is left Jimmy Rose is the next to leave and I’m surprised that he got as many votes as he did. I’m glad that a singer will not win ‘AGT’. ‘The Voice’ is coming back and we can get our fair share of singing there.
My favorite contestants from the moment I saw them perform are the final two and no matter what the result is I am thrilled. Both are one man acts that take a lot of creativity and originality.
Taylor Williamson is sent home and Kenichi Ebina is declared the winner of ‘America’s Got Talent’. I am somewhat disappointed that Taylor did not win. He killed it last night and I would have loved to see a standup comic win.
From his first ‘dance-ish’ performance to his last Kenichi Ebina thrilled us with his amazing acts. He is a comedian, a dancer, an illusionist and a storyteller. Congratulations Kenichi!
Comment and let us know if you thought Kenichi deserved to win this season of ‘America’s Got Talent.
